Percy Jackson is a dyslexic twelve year old, with ADHD, when Percy and his best friend Grover Underwood go on a field trip to the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art with their Ancient Greek and Roman Mythology class and substitute teacher Mrs. Dodds, Percy finds out that he's not as normal as he thought. When he lands in a camp for half bloods (half mortal, half god), he finds out that the great god Zeus's Master Bolt has been stolen. He is sent on a quest with his friend Grover, who happens to be a satyr, and Annabeth Chase, another camper who despises him when they first meet. Along the way a series of events happens including, meeting monsters from Greek Mythology and getting stuck in their traps. Percy fulfills his quest successfully, and he and Annabeth become best of friends. There is sequels to this book from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians; The Sea of Monsters to the Trials of Apollo; The Tyrant's Tomb.
This book has been rated four stars online, stating that this is indeed a great book for teens and young adults.
